Okay, now what?

So, I’ve cried out to Jesus, now what?  I’ve come to the decision that He is with me and I am not alone.  There is still that doubt, that constant doubt that looms over my head that what if He leaves me?  What if I mess up or I don’t follow His commandments, or I do something wrong?  Will He leave me?  This issued remained with me for many, many years.

You see, I had trust issues.  My biological father had left me, my “dad” had left me, boyfriends had left me, and then I was in fear that my husband would leave me too.  I lived in constant fear that my husband was going to leave me and that he would abandon me.  This was no life for me.  So, I chose to cry out to Jesus once again.  I chose to take my love walk with God and just see how he could change me and my circumstances.  When I had finally had enough, when I was finally sick and tired of living in fear, doubt, sadness and depression long enough, I turned my entire life over to Him and gave Him complete control.  I started reading scriptures such as, ”"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).” Once I began reading these scriptures, they finally took root in my heart.  I had to get them in my head and then they finally sunk into my heart. I challenge you today, to say this scripture daily.  Post it up in the bathroom, on your refrigerator, in your car.  Anywhere that you can glance over at it and say it so that it eventually seeps down into your heart.

Friends, God will never leave you.  God loves you.  Even when it’s hard to believe that God is with you and He will never leave you, we must have trust and faith.  Faith conquers all fear.  With this faith comes love.  We learn to love, to trust, to laugh, to live.  I ask you, are you ready to trust God?

  • Matthew Milam II Says:

    When it came down to trust my problem was in trusting too much. I stayed connected to the wrong people way too long. It allowed situations, and rotten influence to take its toll. In turning to the Word of God I found these simple truths…

    Psalm 84:12 (NIV)
    O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

    Psalm 118:8 (NIV)
    It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

    Isaiah 2:22 (NIV)
    Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?

    Jeremiah 9:3-5 (NIV)
    “They make ready their tongue
    like a bow, to shoot lies;
    it is not by truth
    that they triumph in the land.
    They go from one sin to another;
    they do not acknowledge me,”
    declares the LORD.
    “Beware of your friends;
    do not trust your brothers.
    For every brother is a deceiver,
    and every friend a slanderer.
    Friend deceives friend,
    and no one speaks the truth.
    They have taught their tongues to lie;
    they weary themselves with sinning.

    When you trust in the Lord you learn to recognize those who make the effort to be godly. Our Lord will send the best friends possible. His hand is always at work for the greater good of those who love Him.

    Blessings,
    Matt.

    Thanks for sharing Matt. I totally agree that it is very easy to put too much trust in man. God has given man the fruit of the spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When we trust in God, we learn how to recognize man by his fruits. Yes, trust in God and He will direct our path. Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom with us!
